Setup Print Template

After the sheet has been created, the settings can be adjusted by using the Setup Print Template tool.

  1. In the open sheet model, select Setup Print Template.
  2. Confirm or change the sheet size. The list of available sheet sizes is generated from a file named SheetSizes.def.  The configuration variable MS_CUSTOMSHEETSIZEDEF defines the name and location of the sheet sizes definition file. The default location is in the following installation folder: …/default/data/
  3. Specify the orientation to be either Landscape or Portrait
  4. The Design option refers to the layout of the page and provides three options as described below.

Sheet Only – Displays the sheet boundary as defined by the sheet model properties.

Sheet and Standard Border – Displays a list of standard borders to be placed in the print model. The configuration variable MS_GEOPRINTPREP_SHEETSIZESDGNLIB defines the name and location of the DGNLib file used for providing the list of available borders. The default file is SheetSizes.dgnlib and is located in the following installation folder: .../PrintPreparation/defaults/. To provide your own list of standard borders, define this variable to point to your DGNLib.

Sheet and Printable Area – Displays the printable area as a line string in the print model according to the form size from the selected printer.

Note: Placing the standard border and printable area will place geometry in the file.  You can edit the border geometry using standard MicroStation tools. Use OpenCities Map print template tools to add the your legend, images, or tables.
