Bentley SpacePlanner applies thematic map graphics in the views specified from the Thematic Maps dialog. These graphic elements are stored in the Thematic Maps definition files (*.tmt). That is, they are not selectable elements in the active DGN file. An option exists in the Thematic Maps dialog to save maps to the active DGN file.

When maps are saved to the DGN file, the map graphic elements become part of the DGN file, and are selectable. They are placed on an automatically defined level named TM_SAVEDMAP. You may define your own default level for Thematic Maps graphics with a configuration variable:
