The Mechanical discipline Connect Ducts/Pipes tool connects elements that are in line with each other. Although the tool settings do not have an explicit in line option, they are capable of using the automatic placement functionality to place a variety of components depending upon location and orientation.

A design calls for a rectangular duct to join with a round duct which is in line. The ducts are not perfectly aligned however. The Connect tool settings solve the inaccuracy problem.
