Continuous Footing

Used to place strip footings.

SettingDescription
Shape Type Specifies whether you are using a regular (rectangular) parametric shape or user-defined shape for the strip footing.
Note: Selecting a User shape in the Shape Type field displays Shape Class and Shape Size fields in Dimension.
Shape Class Sets the shape display modes: low, normal, and high.
Dimension Used to set up dimensions of the pad footing.
For Parametric Shape types:
  • Width – Sets Width dimension of the strip footing.
  • Depth – Sets Depth dimension of the strip footing.
For User Shape types:
  • Shape Class – Select the library in which the desired user shape is stored.
  • Shape Size – Select the desired user shape for your strip footing.
Offset If you are not centering the strip footing on the line(s) you select, enter an offset value to determine its placement
  • X-Offset – Sets the Distance from center in the X direction to place the strip footing.
  • Y-Offset – Sets the Distance from center in the Y direction to place the strip footing.
Options
  • Rebar Frame(s) – Sets Rebar view frame for concrete, selected from the list.
  • Material – Sets a predefined material from the list.
  • Level – Select the CAD level on which the beam will be placed.
  • Part Family –  If you model contains any named part families, they will be listed there. Select one to add the new column to this part family.
  • Detail Style – If detailing styles are defined, you can set them here by selecting from the list.
  • Display Class – If your model contains any named display classes, they will be listed there. Select one to add the new column to this display class.
  • Area Class – If you model contains any named area classes, they will be listed there. Select one to add the new column to this area class.
  • Description – Sets an object description from the list. The selection of the description can influence the color and the layer.
Placement Options Determines how your element is placed:
  • Insert a Footing by Object – Places a user-defined footings under and existing wall.
  • Insert Strip Footing by Specified Points – Places a free-form shape for regular and user-defined footings.
  • Insert Strip Footing by 2D Smartline, Circle, or Arc – Places a regular or user-defined footing along a line, circle, or arc.
OK Closes the dialog and save your changes.
Cancel Closes the dialog without saving changes.
Help Opens online help.
Template Saves and retrieve (Using Templates) settings to be used on other projects.
Favorites
  • Current Settings - Select when you haven't created any template and you want to use the current settings of the dialog instead.
  • Bentley/Default - Select when you want to use the application default settings template and you don't want to use the current settings of the dialog instead.
