To search for a part in your model

  1. Select (Search Parts ). The Search Parts dialog opens.
  2. In the Filter list, click on one of the criteria to use for your search.
  3. Select a search condition operator, such as = (equals), >= (greater than or equal to), <= (less than or equal to).
  4. Select or type a comparison value. For example, you can search for an Object Type (equal to) = Beams, or a Width (less than or equal to) <= 500.

  5. Use the following buttons to combine the filter condition with different logical operators:
    • – Connects two single expressions with a logical "AND".
    • – Connects two single expressions with a logical "OR".
    • – Places a bracket around the last condition.
    • – Adds the current condition to the filter list.
    Tip: Use the (Left ) and (Right ) arrow buttons to move expressions in the filter list, and (Clear Conditions ) to remove search conditions.
  6. Use the Options field to specify how to display/hide searched for parts:
    • Select – Select the found parts on the model. Hide the found parts. Hide all other parts except the found parts Zooms to a view that contains all the found parts.
    • Hide – Hide the found parts. Hide all other parts except the found parts Zooms to a view that contains all the found parts.
    • Hide Other Objects – Hide all other parts except the found parts Zooms to a view that contains all the found parts.
    • Mark – Zooms to a view that contains all the found parts.
    • Zoom Extents – Zooms to a view that contains all the found parts.
  7. Select (Scan Model). The then analyze model structure, retrieve group structure from model, collect all objects, and separate model objects to global types.
