SettingDescription
Shape Selection
  • Shape Class – Sets the class for angle shape of the selected connection. Only shapes that are equal-sided angles and unequal-sided angles can be selected.
  • Shape Size – Sets the size for the selected shape of web angle.
  • Use Flat – When checked, The web angle will be made from bent plate steel instead of angle steel.
The dimension settings are enabled to set:
    • Short leg
    • Long leg
    • Thickness
    • Bent Radius
The program will determine the actual length of the steel plate.
Position Selection
  • (side selection) – Sets the web side of the shape to be connected (Left or Right side), which is to be used for attaching the web plate. When Both sides is selected, a plate is attached to both sides of the web.
  • Turn Angles – When checked, the long and short side of the web angle are exchanged so that the long side is situated at the connecting shape.
Note: Enabled when Use Flat is unchecked.
Selecting one of the following options permits you to make additional specifications referring to the dimension.
  • From Edge – When checked, the vertical offset is measured from the upper edge of the shape up to the upper edge of the web angle. Enables below settings:
    • Lower Edge – When checked, the vertical offset will refer to the lower edge of shape and web angle instead of to the upper edge.
    • Up to 1st Bolt – When checked, the vertical offset will refer to the centre of the first bolt instead of to the edges of the web angle.
  • Gap – Sets the distance to be kept between the end of the connecting shape and the supporting shape.
  • Side Offset – Sets the distance between the web of the connected shape and the web angles (normally 0 or a slight clearance).
  • Vertical Offset – Sets the distance the web angle is shifted from the axis of the shape to be connected, upwards or to the right (depending on the position). A negative entry will cause shifting in the opposite direction.
  • Cut Strainght – When checked, the connection shape will be cut straight, instead of cutting it at the support shape contour.
