Export Visible Edges Dialog, General Tab

Contains controls that are used to set the view and whether to draw rule lines, intersections, or visible edges. Settings other than the ones mentioned below are same as in the Hidden Line Settings dialog General tab.

SettingDescription
View Sets the view that determines the orientation of the visible edges.
Boundary Sets the boundary of the exported visible edges DGN file. If Tiling is enabled, then the Boundary setting is disabled and only the elements in the chosen View are processed.
  • Design File — The entire DGN file is exported.
  • View — The view contents of the selected View are exported.
  • Fence — If a fence is placed, the fence contents are exported. Not available if there is no fence.
Automatically open output file If on, automatically opens the output file on completion of the visible edges process.
Export To Lets you select the file into which visible edges are exported.
  • 2D File — Output is to a 2D model in a separate DGN file. When you click Export, the Save Visible Edges Design File As dialog opens, to let you select a location and file name for the generated file. By default, the file is given the name of the active DGN file, but with a ".hln" extension.
  • 3D File — Output is to a 3D model in a separate DGN file. When you click Export, the Save Visible Edges Design File As dialog opens, to let you select a location and file name for the generated file. By default, the file is given the name of the active DGN file, but with a ".hln" extension.
  • Active File — If on, the visible edges are saved in the model file (the active DGN file).
Expand Custom Linestyles If on, Line Style Attributes are processed and appear in the generated visible edges.

If off, Line Style Attributes are ignored.

Note: When Custom Line Styles are processed, they appear in the resulting visible edges file as "stick geometry". That is, they are represented by standard elements and no longer have custom line style attributes.
