Specifying Fence Creation Methods

When you create print definitions from design files, you can specify a fence creation method to define the print area. Print Organizer dynamically creates a fence from boundary-defining elements such as shapes, cells, or by describing elements whose ranges define the print area.

Suppose you have four DGN files and each file contains three design models. In each design model you have two detail drawings, each with a boundary-defining shape. If the model selection method is "All design models" and the fence creation method is "Define from shape," Print Organizer will create twenty-four (4 DGN files x 3 design models x 2 shapes) print definitions.

The following fence creation methods are supported:

  • None—Indicates that you do not want to define a fence.
  • Define from shape—Describes shapes whose actual coordinates define the print area.
  • Define from cell—Describes cells whose actual coordinates define the print area.
  • Fit to master model—Describes a fence whose coordinates are based on the range of every element in the master model.
  • Fit to master model and all reference files—Describes a fence whose coordinates are based on the range of every element in the master model and all references.
  • Fit to element range—Describes a fence whose coordinates are based on the range of specified elements.
  • Enter fence points—Describes a fence whose coordinates are based on the specified fence points.

The following sections contain information about the fence creation methods.

Note: Fence creation methods only apply to DGN/DWG print definitions.
