To Create Multiple Parametric Solids by Extruding Selected Planar Elements (Profiles)

  1. Use the Element Selection tool to select the profile elements.
CAUTION: If you select multiple profile elements to extrude, the result will be a single feature solid, not separate solids.
  2. Select the Extrude tool.
  3. Enter a data point.
If Distance is This data point defines the
On Direction that the selected profile elements are projected.
Off Direction and distance that the selected profile elements are projected.

Left: Use the Element Selection tool to select the required profile elements (1 and 2). | Right: Select the Extrude tool and enter a data point to complete the extrusion.

Note: If the selected planar elements’ areas intersect, the resulting solid is a solids union projected from the selected elements. If any profile is completely inside another profile and on the same plane, it is subtracted from the outer profile.

Left: Co-planar profile elements. | Right: Resulting extrusion with overlapping extrusions “unioned” and holes formed from profiles located completely inside another.
