When you delete an element that has an attached database linkage, MicroStation automatically deletes the associated row from the database table if Delete Linked Database Rows is on in the Database dialog. However, the opposite is not true. If you should delete data from the database without removing linkage information from an element, you create what is called an orphan linkage. Orphan linkages are linkages without associated rows in the database.
