Dome Surface

(3D only) Used to place a dome shaped surface, which is a part of a sphere.

You can access this tool from the following:

  • Ribbon: Modeling > Surfaces > Create Surfaces > Primitive Surfaces > Dome
  • Toolbox: Primitive Surfaces

SettingDescription
Method Sets the placement method.
  • Dome Radius — The dome radius is defined first and then the location relative to the dome radius.
  • Opening Radius — The dome opening radius is defined first and then the dome height from the opening location.
Axis Sets the direction in which the height axis of the dome is defined.
  • Points (AccuDraw) — Direction of height is defined graphically. AccuDraw can be used to define the drawing plane on which the points are placed.
  • Screen X, Y, or Z — Direction of the height is set to the screen's X, Y, or Z axis.
  • Drawing X, Y, or Z — Direction of the height is set to the drawing's, or design file's, X, Y, or Z axis.
Dome Radius (Available only when Method is set to Dome Radius) If on, sets the radius of the dome.
Dome Height (Available only when Method is set to Opening Radius) If on, sets the height of the dome.
Opening Distance (Available only when Method is set to Dome Radius) If on, sets the distance along the height for the base of the dome. The position of the pointer when accepting, determines which part of the construction sphere is removed.
Opening Radius (Available only when Method is set to Opening Radius) If on, sets the radius of the opening.
