Using Tabs

The Text Editor window allows you to set first line indents, paragraph indents and tab stops.

  • First Line Indents affect the first line of each paragraph (independent of the rest of the paragraph).
  • Paragraph Indents control the indentation of all lines of the paragraph (unless a first line indent is specified).
  • Tab Stops (inserted by the Tab key) occur, by default, at a distance equal to 4 times the text width. Custom tab stops can be specified to override this distance. The default tab stop distance resumes after the final custom tab stop.
Note: To create a multi-line paragraph, use either word-wrapped text or line feeds (<Shift+Enter>). A carriage return (<Enter>) creates a new paragraph.
