Using Named Expressions to Name Markups

Named expressions can be used to automate and customize the naming of markups. Once set up, you can select an expression from a list and the system automatically generates the correct base name for the markup as it is created. You need to create a DGNLib file to store the named expressions for markups.

A named expression has a set of keywords that identify usage contexts. The Markup keyword is used to construct a markup base name from the properties of the active file and active model. Named expressions and keywords have two names; an external name for display, and an internal name used to identify the expression clearly. To view all the named expressions associated with markups, in the Named Expressions dialog, choose Markups from the filter drop-down list.
