Text in 3D

Normally, text is not placed in a 3D design model, but instead it is placed in the related sheet model . However, there are times that text is required in a 3DĀ model.

Like other 2DĀ elements, text is placed planar to the view in which it is placed. When viewed edge is on, individual characters appear as dashes.

If you want text to be visible, regardless of the view orientation, you should use View independent text (Place Text tool > View Independent check box), which is visible in all views, regardless of the orientation of the view in which it is placed. This is useful for placing base information, such as survey markers.
