Array Feature

Used to construct an array of a parametric feature. Arrays can be rectangular, polar (circular), or along a selected path.

You can access this tool from the following:
  • Ribbon: Modeling > Solids > Modify Features > Manipulate Features split button
  • Toolbox: Modify Features
SettingDescription
Array Type Sets the type of array.
  • Rectangular — Creates a rectangular array.
  • Polar — Creates a polar (circular) array.
  • Along Path — Creates an array of a feature along a path.
Array About Sets the coordinate system about which the array is generated.
  • Feature — The features axes.
  • Design X — The active DGN file X axis.
  • Design Y — The active DGN file Y axis.
  • Design Z — The active DGN file Z axis.
  • View X — The Active view X axis.
  • View Y — The Active view Y axis.
  • View Z — The Active view Z axis.
  • Accudraw/ACS X — The active Auxiliary Coordinate System X axis. Disabled if no ACS present.
  • Accudraw/ACS Y — The active Auxiliary Coordinate System Y axis. Disabled if no ACS present.
  • Accudraw/ACS Z — The active Auxiliary Coordinate System Z axis. Disabled if no ACS present.
Along Path Mode (Available only when Array Type is set to Along Path) Sets the mode for placement of feature along a path. Options are:
  • Number - Defines the number of features in the array, via the Copies setting.
  • Distance - Defines the distance between features in the array, via the Distance setting.
  • Both - Defines the number of features in the array and the distance between each feature, via the Copies and Distance settings respectively.
Copies (Available only when Along Path Mode is set to Number or Both) Sets the number of copies of the feature in the array, including the original.
Distance (Available only when Along Path Mode is set to Distance or Both) Sets the distance between features in the array.
Angle (Rectangular array) If on, sets the angle (positive or negative) of the array relative to the x-axis of the selected coordinate system.
Rows (Rectangular array) Sets the number or rows.
Columns (Rectangular array) Sets the number of columns.
Row Spacing (Rectangular array) Sets the distance between the rows (can be positive or negative).
Column Spacing (Rectangular array) Sets the distance between the columns (can be positive or negative).
Items (Polar array) Sets the number of items that will form the array.
Delta Angle (Polar array) Sets the angle between arrayed items.
Total Angle (Polar array) Sets the total angle by the polar array set.
Rotate (Available only when Array Type is set to Along Path) If on, the element(s) are rotated to maintain their relative orientation to the path element.
Whole Element Creates an array of the whole feature, including the boolean operations or modifications applied to the solid. For example, if you unite three solids using the Unite Solids tool, and then try to create an array with this check box turned on, the array is created for the united feature. On the other hand, if this check box is off, the array is created only for the selected solid.
