New and Changed in Bentley Raceway and Cable Management CONNECT Edition Update 11
The following items summarize the new feature and enhancement in the Bentley Raceway and Cable Management CONNECT Edition Update 11 release.
Enhanced Raceway ID tools | The following enhancements have been made to
the Raceway ID tool to enhance labeling workflows and save design time:
|
New SDK featuring Raceway and Equipment APIs | You can now take advantage of a more
comprehensive SDK to create your own custom tools and automate your design
process. The new SDK enables you to do the following:
|
PlantSight Integration | You now have the option to persist project data inside an iModel in PlantSight as an alternative to a SQL Server database which provides the following benefits: |
New Convenient and Expedient Parametric Content Creation Tool | A new
Parametric Content
Creation
tool is added to the
Manage ribbon menu in the
Project Setup group, which provides a
user-friendly interface for defining complex equipment, raceway components, and
supports that doesn't require scripting expertise. You can select from various
3D elements and specify sizes, positions, and rotation through a tree
structured interface to build complex components that perform well in a 3D
model.
The parametric components you create are stored in an XML
format using
.pmd file and can be used by the
following tools:
|
New Parametric Support Placement Tool | A new Parametric Support Placement tool is added to the Raceway ribbon menu in the Supports group. This tool utilizes the new .pmd parametric supports with the ability to directly attach the supports to the ceiling or floor with a simple setting, making it fast and easy to place multiple supports. |
Support for Multiple Connection Points on Equipment | You can add multiple connection points to equipment using the new Parametric Content Creation tool. You can use the "Point" primitive and set its type to "ConnectionPoint." In essence, this feature adds junction boxes as additional connection points to the equipment. The cable list should then refer to the IDs of these connections, which would be automatically labeled as: "(equipment ID)+ (Name property of Point node in POB file)." The cable routing would then identify which connection point to route a cable to. |
Support for Cable Ladder with Round Rung Profile | Using the new Parametric Content Creation tool, you can define round shaped cable ladder rungs that were previously impossible. |
New Content | The following raceway content is added to the software: |
New Sample Projects | New sample projects have been introduced that leverage the same Plant model as the OpenPlant Example WorkSpace to provide a consistent set of example projects for both the imperial and metric datasets. |
Replace Deprecated Tag Sets with new Item Types | Tag Sets have been deprecated in CONNECT Edition in favor of Item Types . For this reason, raceway and equipment IDs and labels now use Item Types instead of Tag Sets. |
Added Configuration Variable to Allow Larger Cables to Route | Added the configuration variable BRCM_AUTOROUTE_IGNORERWHEIGHTIFNOCAP to allow larger cables to route considering the Cap Style settings. |
