AssetWise CONNECT Edition Implementation Guide

Regenerating EC Schema

Regenerating the EC schema updates the schema to reflect latest changes to the AssetWise metadata. Without it, WSG and data consuming applications will continue to reference the old, outdated schema.

If adding multiple root classes or child classes, this step can be completed after all of the AssetWise configuration is done. However, this is a prerequisite to creating a form for the newly created class. If you choose to design a form after each class creation, then you will need to generate the schema first.

After finishing adding/deleting/modifying AssetWise classes and attributes of the AssetWise datasource, you must regenerate the EC Schema. Schema generation should be performed after all root and child classes are created in the datasource.

If you have an existing website that already has a schema (a working website), see Generating the Schema in AssetWise CONNECT Edition.

The EC schema will be consumed by the eB WSG EC Plugin. It is required so that WSG correctly interacts with the AssetWise datasource.
