Managing Datum Network Element Network Elements and Nodes
A Datum Network Element is the smallest network unit as defined by the administrator.
A Datum Network Element:
- has a start Node and an End Node, which define its direction.
- has a Length and a Unit of Measure.
- may have geometry in a user-defined and named table.
- assets can be located against a Datum Network Element along a specified offset.
- is temporally maintained using Start/End dates.
All assets with linear referenced locations and all groups derive their shape from the shape of the underlying Datum Network Element.
A Node is the start and/or end point for a Datum Network Element.
