Properties For: Fin

Contains controls used to view and modify Fin properties. Fins can be placed using the Add Fin or Add Window tools.

The Properties For: [Fin name] dialog box.

Opens when the Fin Project Tree object´s pop-up menu is activated in the AECOsim Energy Simulator Project Tree and the Properties menu item is selected.

Note: The Properties For: Fin dialog box is a subset of the Properties dialog box which displays only fin properties.

Tip: Units Display – Units are displayed using the default system of units that was defined for the project, but can be changed to display using alternative units.

Setting	Description
Fin	Used to select a new Fin definition for the fin.
Type	Used to display the fin type as being either Horizontal or Vertical. Fin type is a read only property.
Dimensions	Contains controls used to view and define key Fin dimensions. Length — Sets the length of the Fin definition. Height — Displays the Fin height. Fin Height is a read only property.
Location	Contains controls used to view and define specific Fin location measurements. Horizontal distance from surface — Sets the horizontal distance to the first fin from the surface or window is placed on. Vertical distance from surface head — Sets the vertical distance to the first fin from the surface or window is placed on. The option is disabled for vertical fin assemblies. Side distance — Sets the distance the fin extends past the side of the surface it is associated with.
Notifications panel	Used to validate project data and resolve issues with project data in real time (as it is being entered in the Properties For: dialogs) via errors, warnings and messages.
