OpenBuildings™ Station Designer Help

MSCATALOG Table

Before you delve too far into creating tables, you need to have a good understanding of the MSCATALOG table. It is the master table that tells OpenBuildings™ Station Designer information about the database tables available for links to graphic elements. It is opened every time you connect to a database and contains a row for each table that may be linked to the design. There is only one MSCATALOG table for each database.

Note: Any table in a database that will be linked to graphic elements in a DGN file must have a corresponding row in MSCATALOG. However, through SQL statements, any table in the database can be accessed from OpenBuildings™ Station Designer even if it does not have a corresponding row in MSCATALOG.
