To detect and remove duplicates
To detect and remove duplicate model objects, use the following procedure.
Prior to checking for duplicates, you may want to set the
Merge nodes tolerance value in the Options dialog Analysis
model tab. This value is used for determining if two nodes are close enough to be
treated as a single node. For members and surfaces, duplicates are determined when end
or vertex nodes, respectively, are all determined to be within this value.
-
On the
Model ribbon tab, select the
Model Integrity Check tool in the
Edit group.
The Check Model Integrity dialog opens. -
Check the
Dupcliate option for the model objects as
necessary:
- Nodes
- Members
- Surfaces
- Openings
- Regions
-
Click Validate.
The program will delete any model objects which have the
same connectivity. Nodes that are closer than the tolerance value are replaced
with a single node and reconnected to other model objects.
Results of this check are displayed in the Output panel.
- Select the duplicate nodes result in the Output panel to highlight these nodes in the model.
