To add a snow load case

To add a load case for your snow definition load, use the following procedure.

Snow load definitions can not be used with a load group. Only load cases have the option for the snow definition category.
  1. On the Model ribbon tab, select the Load Case tool in the Loads group.

The Add Load Case dialog opens.
  2. Type a unique Name for the load case. This is helpful in identifying the load case.
  3. (Optional) Type a Description for the load case.
  4. Select Snow Definition from the Category drop-down list.
Tip: The Snow General category can be used to specify general loads as snow for use with load combinations.
  5. Select the snow load definition from the Parameter Set drop-down list.
  6. (Optional) Select a Group.
  7. Select the ASCE snow load parameters for the load case:
    1. Select the Condition as Balanced or Unbalanced.
    2. Select the Roof Type from the drop-down list.
    3. Select the Roof Obstruction if present.
  8. If the roof is sloped, check the Roof Slope Factor option and then type the Value.
  9. Click OK. The load case is created and selected as the current load case.
No loads are graphically displayed for snow load cases.
You may repeat this procedure to add additional load cases applying the snow definition in another direction.

Snow load case details can be viewed and edited by selecting the Snow Load Cases tool in the Reference group on the Spreadsheet ribbon tab.
