View Ribbon Tab

Note: Controls on the View tab are used to control the display of model objects in the View window. When the tool listed is highlighted, that item is selected for display.
Table 1. Navigate group
Tool name Description


Zoom Window
Used to define the boundaries of a rectangular area of the active view to be displayed within the current view.


Zoom Extents
Fits the current view to display the entire structure limits.


Zoom In
Zoom in the current view by a preset percentage magnification.


Zoom Out
Zoom out the current view by a preset percentage magnification.


Isometric View
View the model as an isometric projection.


Top View
View the foundation mode in plan; from the positive Y axis.


Bottom View
View the structure model from the negative Y axis.


Front View
View the structure model from the positive Z axis.


Back View
View the structure model from the negative Z axis.


Left View
View the structure model from the negative X axis.


Right View
View the structure model from the positive X axis.


Rotate Up
Rotate the structure model forward about the X axis.


Rotate Down
Rotate the foundation mode backward about the X axis.


Rotate Left
Rotate the structure model forward about the Y axis.


Rotate Right
Rotate the structure model backward about the Y axis.


Spin Left
Rotate the structure model forward about the Z axis.


Spin Right
Rotate the structure model backward about the Z axis.

Tool name Description


UCS
Controls the display of all visible coordinate systems.


Grids
Controls the display of all visible grids.


Ruler
Click this tool to activate the graphical measuring tool. You can click any two points in the model view window to display the distance between those points. You can repeat this process to display additional distances in the view window. Click the tool again to erase all distance labels.

Selected Objects
When selected, only the selected model objects are displayed.

Local Axis
Controls the display of local axes on active members and surfaces.


Releases
Controls the display of member end releases for selected members.


Supports
Controls the display of supports for the selected objects.


End Offsets
Controls the display of member end offsets for selected members.


Axial Behavior
Controls the display of axial behavior icons on selected members set to compression-only or tension-only.

Numbering
Controls the display of model object numbers for selected objects. Click the drop-down arrow to check the model objects you want to show numbers for.


Tags
Controls the display of descriptions and attributes for active members and surfaces. Click the drop-down arrow to check for either attributes, descriptions, or both.


Dimensions
Controls the display of various model dimensions. Click the drop-down arrow to check the dimensions you want displayed for active model objects.


Color By
Changes the model display to color by various attributes. Click the drop-down arrow to select the attribute you want to color model objects by.


Sections
Controls the display of member sections for active members.


Materials
Controls the display of member and surface materials for active objects.


3D Rendering
Changes the view window to display a 3D rendering of the physical model.
Note: You must have required model object properties previously specified, such as profiles and thicknesses, in order to use this view.
