To create a gap around surfaces

To create a uniform gap around the outer edges of surfaces, use the following procedure.

This procedure is useful for situations where slabs or walls need to be physically separated but it is useful to share nodes between them. For example, for tilt-up wall structures.
  1. Select the surfaces which will all have the same gap.
  2. On the Surface ribbon tab, select the Create Gap tool in the Edit group.

The Create Surface Gap dialog opens.
  3. Type the Spacing to use around the edge of the surfaces.
  4. Click OK. The dialog closes and the spacing is added to the surfaces.
