To add a reference line load

To add a uniform or linearly varying load along a reference line, use the following procedure.

Select the reference lines that will have the same line load applied.
On the Reference Line ribbon tab, select the Line Load tool in the Loads group.

The Add Surfaces Line Load dialog opens.
Select the Load group or case to which the load will be added from the drop-down list.
Type the Magnitude 1 and Magnitude 2 values, which correspond to the load values at the start and end nodes, respectively.
Select the Direction of the load.
Click OK.

The dialog closes and the line load is applied to the selected reference lines.

You can edit line load values for the current load group or load case by selecting the Line Load tool in the Non-Structural group on the Spreadsheet ribbon tab.
