To add a panel inside bounding members

To create a panel inside a selected set of bounding members, use the following procedure.

Bounding edge members must have start or end nodes at panel vertices. That is, they cannot be continuous members beyond the corners of the panel. You can use the Segment Member tool to segment members at intersections to quickly generate the correct bounding members.
  1. Select three or more members to form bounding edges for a panel.
Note: Refer to Notes on Panels for details on panel load limitations.
  2. On the Member ribbon tab, select the Create tool in the Regions group and then select one of the following options.
    Option Description
Inside Selected Members Used to create a panel using two-way distribution among the selected perimeter members.
Inside Selecte Members Spanning in X Used to create a panel using one-way distribution in the global X direction among the selected perimeter members.
Inside Selecte Members Spanning in Y Used to create a panel using one-way distribution in the global Y direction among the selected perimeter members.
Note: Your bounding member selection must have members parallel to the Global X or Y direction in order to use the one-way spanning tool options.
A panel is generated within the bounding members.
