To specify a tapered section
To specify a tapered section depth, use the following procedure.
Note: You may specify member depth values
for any member. Only those with prismatic I shapes, prismatic pipe,
and prismatic tubes will be modeled as tapered in the analytical
model. Other shapes such as prismatic I with composite flange and
rectangular tube sections with taper values will generate a series
of stepped sections at the number of divisions specified in the
Options dialog.
- Select one or more members in the graphical view which have the same end depths.

On the Member ribbon tab, select the Assign
Taper tool in the
Properties group.
The Assign Tapered Properties dialog opens. - Check the Set Initial Depth option and then type an Initial Depth value.
- Check the Set Final Depth option and then type a Final Depth value.
- Click OK.
