To assign direct analysis specifications

To assign members as flexural or axial members for consideration in a direct analysis per AISC 360 Appendix 7, use the following procedure.

Select one or more members which will all have the same direct analysis specifications.
On the Member ribbon tab, select the Direct Analysis Attributes tool in the Properties group.

The Assign Direct Analysis Attributes dialog opens.
Select one or both of the attributes that apply to the selected members:
Click OK.

You can review the assigned direct analysis attributes by selecting the Direct Analysis Attributes tool in the Members group on the Spreadsheet ribbon tab.
