To generate nodes in a rectangular array
To add a quadrangular array of nodes, use the following procedure.
-
Select a group of four nodes in the model.
You must select four nodes not along a single line but within a single plane to define the plane of the node generation. The line segments between nodes do not need to be parallel. They can form any four-sided polygonal shape.
-
Select the
Quadratic Generation tool in
the
Edit group on the
Nodal ribbon tab.
The Node quadrangular generation dialog opens. - Type the number of nodes along the perpendicular sides, respectively. The sides are labeled by the order of the selection of nodes. For example, 1-2 represents the first and second node selected, where as 1-4 represents the first and last (fourth) node selected for the array.
- Click OK. The dialog closes and the nodes are generated in the selected plane.
