To open the model and generate analysis

Tip: It is recommended that you first make a backup copy of all files with the name Typical Ground +3 Story Building in the C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition\Samples\Sample Models\Building Planner\ folder. You can do this using the Archive feature in STAAD.Pro.

Open the STAAD input file C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition\Samples\Sample Models\Building Planner\Typical Ground +3 Story Building.std.
Tip: If you have a ProjectWise Project you want to associate with this input file, you can do so. This is not necessary, though, for this tutorial.
(Optional) On the File ribbon tab Info tab, add job information:
- type Tutorial in the Job field
- type your organization's name in the Client field
- type your initials in the Engineer field
Either:

on the Analysis and Design ribbon tab, select the Run Analyze tool in the Analysis group

or
press <Ctrl+F5>

The analysis is performed.
Select the Stay in Modeling Mode option and click Done.
Select the Building Planner workflow. The STAAD Building Planner window opens.

The STAAD Building Planner will be used to layout the structure.
