D5.D.6.1 Clause 3.2.1(1) - Material Properties

The material strengths (i.e., - steel grade strengths) to be used with NF EN 1993-1-1 are given in Table 3.1 of the code. The French National Annex however, specifies a separate table (Table 3.1 NF) for the yield and tensile strengths of steel grades. This new table replaces Table 3.1 in NF EN 1993-1-1:2005. Table 3.1 NF excludes steel grades from standards EN 10210-1 and EN 10219-1 that are given in EC-3.

STAAD.Pro uses the steel grades and values from the table given in the National Annex (i.e., - Table 3.1 NF). Table 3.1 NF is similar to table 3.1 in EC3, apart from the fu values for S 355 and S355 W grade steel.

If you specify a steel grade that is not given in the Annex Table 3.1 (NF) but is present in Table 3.1 of EN 1993-1-1:2005, the program uses the values from Table 3.1 of EN 1993-1-1:2005. The appropriate yield strength (fy) used is shown in the design output file.
