EX. To create a general section

On the Specifications ribbon tab, select Section Wizard tool in the Tools group.

The Section Wizard program opens.
Select Tools > Free Sketch. The Free Sketch window opens.
Select File > Import DXF. A File Open dialog opens.
Select the file Box section.dxf and click Open. This file is located in the C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition\Samples\Sample Models\Chinese Steel Design\ folder.
Select mm as the units of measurement and then click OK. The drawing data is imported.
Export the file as a general section to STAAD.Pro:
1. Select File > Export to STAAD.Pro > General Section.
2. Type Bsection as the File Name.
3. Select MMS as the User Table Units.
4. Click OK.
5. Type box1 as the Section Name.
6. Click OK.
In Free Sketch, select File > Exit. When prompted, you can select No to save the changes to this file.

You will next add this section into the STAAD.Pro model and perform analysis using this section.
