Temperature Page
Uniform Temperature
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Initial temperature | Define average temperature at construction time, limits from 0° to 30° C. |
T min/max design | temperature ranges according to AASHTO table 3.12.2.1-1. |
The difference between the extended lower or upper boundary and base construction temperature assumed in the design shall be used to calculate thermal deformation effects.
Temperature gradient
allows you to change the temperature of the top and bottom independently
Setting | Description |
---|---|
T1, T2 | according to AASHTO 3.12.3-1 there are four Temperature zones which provides a linear relationship for the temperature gradient in steel and concrete. |
T3 | shall be taken O° C, unless a site-specific study to determinate an appropriate a values, but it shall not exceed 3° C. |
Negative temperature gradient factor | negative temperatures values shall be obtained by multiplying the values by this factor. |
A-top; A; A-bottom | vertical temperature gradient in concrete and steel superstructures. |
The drawing shows a Positive Vertical Temperature gradient in concrete superstructure.
