Setting | Description |
---|
Capacity name |
The capacity name refers to the variable table which stores the displacement vs capacity output from Pushover analysis. |
SDOF mass |
This is mass of equivalent SDOF system determined as a product of mass times shape function as selected in the PushoverD action dialog. This value is automatically calculated during the Pushover action when (Mass/Modal file) and (Mode/Phi=1/Phi=f) information is provided. The user can also override this calculated value. |
Transf. Fact. Gamma |
The transformation factor is the ratio of SDOF mass and phi * m * phi(T), where phi is the shape function selected in the PushoverD action. This is also known as modal mass participation factor and its value is automatically calculated during the Pushover action when (Mass/Modal file) and (Model/Phi=1/Phi=f) information is provided. The user can also override this calculated value. |
Phi function |
Phi function is a variable table specifying nodal displacements at various nodes on the structure. |
Control node |
The control node is the point of maximum displacement on the structure at which displacement is monitored. The control node specification is required for both Displacement control analysis and also for SDOF mass, Trans. Fact calculation. |
Direction |
X(1), Y(2), and Z(3) |
Target displacement |
Insert the value for target displacement (unit inch or mm based on selected project unit in project setting). The target displacement specification is only required for Displacement control analysis. |
Tolerance |
This is the tolerance for performance point displacement calculation. |
|
EC 8: N2 Method
|
Setting | Description |
---|
Tc |
Transition period (sec). |
Initial displacement |
This is the initial hint for starting the iteration for performance point displacement calculation. |
Initial period |
This is the initial hint for starting the iteration for performance point displacement calculation. The initial period is used to find the corresponding elastic displacement as the starting point for iteration. |

FEMA 440: Displacement Modification
|
Setting | Description |
---|
Tc |
Transition period (sec). |
Lambda Factor |
The factor for near/far field effect. |
Site class |
Site class A, B, C, D, E, or F can be selected. |
Overwrite C0 |
This is equal to the transformation factor automatically calculated by the program. The user can also override this calculated value. |
Overwrite C1 |
This is the modification factor to relate expected maximum inelastic displacements to displacements calculated for linear elastic response. It is automatically calculated but user can also override this value. |
Overwrite C2 |
This is the modification factor to represent the effect of hysteresis shape (pinching, stiffness degradation, and strength deterioration) on the maximum displacement response. It is automatically calculated but user can also override this value. |
|
FEMA 440: Equivalent Linearization
|
Setting | Description |
---|
Damping factor xi (%) |
The reference to the damping variable used in generation of response spectra table. The program internally refers to this variable to reduce the response spectra for various damping ratios. |
Hysteretic type |
The hysteretic type selection depends on the type of behavior expected from the structure. The program provides four options: (1) Bilinear hysteretic, (2) Stiffness degrading, (3) Strength degrading, and (4) General. |
Procedure |
Procedure A (direct iteration) or Procedure B (Intersection with MADRS) can be selected. |
