Minimum travel speed to be investigated (in km/h) |
Vmax
Maximum travel speed to be investigated (in km/h) |
Vstep

Sampling rate
Length of the individual time steps used in the time stepping scheme (in sec)Note: The required time step length is dependent on the natural frequencies of the structure, which shall be considered in the analysis. The results can be assumed accurate enough, if one period is modeled by at least 10 time steps. Hence, for getting accurate results for a relevant natural frequency of 10 Hz, a time step length not greater than 0.01 sec must be chosen. In the case of small structures, where the relevant natural frequencies reach up to 30 Hz, smaller time steps (e.g. 0.003sec) have to be taken. Note that the Newmark method is unconditionally stable also with very large time step lengths, although the results may be quite wrong.

Max. Acceleration
Allowable vertical acceleration of the relevant points of the structure. Limit value, governing the investigation of different travel speeds. The investigation of a train is dropped, when the value is exceeded in one of the relevant points. The investigation of subsequent trains is limited to the speed, where a previous exceeding has occurred. |
ADDITIONAL PARAMETERS of HSLM-B TRAINS
The HSLM-B train model is a model, where a certain amount of axles is arranged with constant spacing. The design code demands using different numbers of axles and different distances for bridges with different span lengths. In the program, these values can be entered by the user. |
HSLMB (N)
Number of axles of the HSML-B train. |
HSLMB (d (m))
Distance between the axles of the HSML-B train. |
