Calculation rule
|
Selection of the required superposition rules for the amplitude values contributed by the individual natural modes (see also Earthquake Loading).
- ABS: Addition of absolute values
- SRSS: Quadratic (pythagorean) addition of individual contributions
- DSC: Partial quadratic combination with correlation factors (Newmark-Rosenblueth)
- CQC: Complete quadratic combination with correlation factors
- CQCX: CQC with considering the sign of the individual contributions Superposition in accordance with a variant of the CQC rule. With correlation factors depending on the specified damping ratio without consideration of the duration of the event. R = Sqrt (Sum of all Ri*Rj*rho_ij), rho_ij are the correlation factors. Negative values Ri*Rj*rho_ij may arise. However, due to the diagonal values of the correlation factors rho_ii being large compared to the off-diagonal terms, it is normally assured, that R can be calculated as a real value.
