Location |
Select the method of specifying the location of the hole or
holes along the length of the member:
- Single Opening - to place a
single hole at the specified Horiz distance from
selected end of span
- Generate - Partial Length -
to place a specified Total number of
openings, starting at the specified
Horiz distance from selected end of
span, at an even
Spacing
- Generate - Full Length - to
place holes at a maximum Spacing along
the length of the beam, between the specified Horiz
distance from each end
Note: The fields associated with a Location option are active when
that option is selected. Otherwise, those values are ignored when
placing web openings.

Shape & Size |
Select the shape of the opening and specify the size parameters
accordingly:
- Rectangular - Type the
H (height) and
B (base length)
- Circular - Type the
Diameter of the opening

Position in Web of Beam |
Select where the hole is positioned in the web:
- Centered - the hole is centered on the
mid-depth of the beam
- Offset from the top of beam - type the
offset distance (inches) and the point in the opening to which
the offset is measured: top, center, or bottom

Single |
Click to select a single beam using the selected placement option. After
selecting a member, you will then select the member end to use as the
reference for horizontal distance for Single and Generated - Partial
Length placement options. |
Intersect |
Click to draw a temporary line segment. Any members that intersect with
this line segment will have openings added. The member end
closest to the line segment will be the reference for the
horizontal distance for Single and Generated - Partial Length placement
options. |
