User Defined Load Cases

Properties of the User Defined loads are entered in the Story Forces dialog.

  • Story - Indicates the level at which the force acts.
  • Diaph. # - Indicates the diaphragm at which the force acts.
  • Force - Indicates the magnitude of the force.
  • Direction - Specifies the direction of the force measured in degrees. 0 indicates a force acting along the X-Axis. 90 indicates a force acting along the Y-Axis.
  • X - The X-Coordinate where the force acts.
  • Y - The Y-Coordinate where the force acts.

Seismic Story Forces

X and Y are applicable for only rigid diaphragms. Eccentricities, (ex and ey) are only applicable for semirigid diaphragms. Note that (ex and ey) are eccentricities defined along X and Y-directions, respectfully and they are measured from diaphragm's center of mass.

Wind Story Forces

X and Y are applicable for only rigid diaphragms. Windward/Leeward percent (WF and LF) and eccentricities, (ex and ey) are only applicable for semirigid diaphragms. Note that (ex and ey) are eccentricities defined along X and Y directions, respectfully and they are measured from center of exposure.
