Add Single Column Footing
To add a single column footing:
- Select the layout type containing the column or columns at the base of which the footing is to be added.
- Select the Layout - Foundations - Single Column - Add command.
- Select the type of single column footing to add: Spread or Pile Cap.
- Type the Reinforcement and Footing material properties. Refer to the Foundation manual for information on how these values are used in the design of Spread and Pile Cap footings.
- Select an option for Orientation of Footing’s Major Axis. The Parallel to Column Web option will orient the footing to have the same orientation as the column.
- Select either Single to add a single column footing to one column at a time or Fence to add single column footings to all columns within a fenced area.

| Fence: | Fence an area in which all columns are to be assigned single column footings | A footing will be drawn with an arrow. The arrow indicates the orientation of the footing. |
Return to the Add Single Column Footing dialog box with the Right Mouse Button or the "D" key.
Return to the Layout - Foundations menu with the "M" key.
Clicking the Cancel button or selecting any other RAM Modeler Layout command will end the Layout - Foundations - Single Column - Add command.
