It is often useful to see other layout types when modeling a specific layout type. This can be done by using the Options – Reference Layout Types command to set up which layout types should be shown as reference layout types. Enabled reference layout types are drawn dimmed with respect to the current layout type, and they are all drawn under the current layout type. Specific layout types can be checked from the list at the top of the dialog to cause those to always be shown as reference layout types. Additionally, Always show layout type above current layout type and/or Always show layout type below current layout type can be checked in order to have the layout type above and/or below the currently selected layout type shown. Note that these last two check boxes only work for layout types that are assigned to stories, since other layout types have no concept of above/below.
