Create/Edit Grid Systems dialog
Used to create and manage grid systems.
Only unique Grid Systems need be created. It is not necessary to create a separate Grid System for each Layout Type if the Grids are identical between levels. A Grid System may be used by more than one Layout Type, and a Layout Type may use more than one Grid System.
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Grid System Label | Type a unique label used to identify the grid system. |
Grid System Type | Select either an Orthogonal (i.e., Carteisian) or Radial (i.e., polar) grid. |
X / Y offset | The distance of the local grid system origin from the global origin. |
Rotation | Angle between the local Grid System and the global coordinate system, measured counter-clockwise. |
grid list | A list of all the grids in the model. |
Add | Click to add a new grid to the list. Active once a new Grid System Label is typed. |
Delete | Click to delete the currently selected grid. You may not delete a grid system currently assigned to a layout type. |
Change | Click to save changes to the label, offsets, or rotation. If the offset or rotation values are changed, the entire Grid System will move, and any structural elements associated with those grids will move as well. |
Edit Grids | Opens either the Orthogonal Grids or Radial Grids dialog (depending on the current grid selection type). |
