The bracing condition determined by the program can be overridden on a column by column basis using the Assign - Bracing command. For each axis (Major and Minor) there are three options:

• Global is used to specify that the Bracing conditions used for design are to be determined by the program based on the model geometry and Bracing Criteria.
• Braced is used to specify that the Bracing conditions used for design are to be considered as braced, regardless of the model geometry and Bracing Criteria.
• Unbraced is used to specify that the Bracing conditions used for design are to be considered as unbraced, regardless of the model geometry and Bracing Criteria.

Note that to clear a previous assignment, invoke the Assign – Bracing command and assign the Global option.

In Single mode, select the column for which the Bracing assignment is to be assigned to the top of the column. In Fence mode fence entirely all columns for which the Bracing assignment is to be assigned to the top of the column. All assigns the Bracing assignment to the tops of all columns.
