To add a beam by using a distance offset from one end of an existing beam and a distance offset from one end of a second existing beam:

1. Select the Beam-To-Beam (Dist-Dist) option button.
2. Type the distance from one end of the first reference beam span to the location of one end of the new beam in the Dist1 edit box.
   Note: A value of 0.00 for the distance is permissible.
   
3. Type the distance from one end of the second reference beam span to the location of the other end of the new beam in the Dist2 edit box. Note that a value of 0.00 for the distance is permissible.
4. Click the Add button. The dialog box will disappear and the RAM Modeler will enter the Add Beam Off-Grid Layout Mode.
5. Click the first reference beam span.
6. Select the end of the first reference beam span from which Dist1 is to be measured.
7. Click the second reference beam span.
8. Select the end of the second reference beam span from which Dist2 is to be measured. The new beam will be added.
