Purpose: To add a joist by using a distance offset from one end of an existing beam or joist and a distance offset from one end of a second existing beam or joist.

1. Select the Beam-To-Beam (Dist-Dist) option button.
2. Type the distance from one end of the first reference beam to the location of one end of the new joist in the Dist1 edit box. Note that a value of 0.00 for the distance is permissible.
3. Type the distance from one end of the second reference beam to the location of one end of the new joist in the Dist2 edit box. Note that a value of 0.00 for the distance is permissible.
4. Click Add. The dialog box will disappear and the RAM Modeler will enter the Add Joist Off-Grid Layout Mode.
5. Click the first reference beam.
6. Select the end of the first reference beam from which Dist1 is to be measured.
7. Click the second reference beam.
8. Select the end of the second reference beam from which Dist2 is to be measured. The new joist will be added.
