Rectangular and circular web openings are indicated graphically with a square and circular symbol, respectively, as shown in the first figure above. These symbols are also used in the Modeler. After the design has been performed, the symbols may vary depending on the presence of web stiffeners. If there are web stiffeners on only one side of the beam web, those stiffeners will be illustrated with a single line through the symbols as shown in the middle figure above. If there are web stiffeners on both sides of the beam web, those stiffeners will be illustrated with a double line through the symbols as shown in the third figure above.

Elongated openings for SCI P355 are not implemented.

Tip: These graphics can be toggled on or off by selecting either View > Show Web Openings or the Show Web Openings tool in the Beam Layout dynamic toolbar.
