Purpose: To add a joist by using a distance offset from one end of an existing beam or joist and connecting to an existing column:

1. Select the Beam-To- Column (Dist) option button.
2. Type the distance from one end of the reference beam to the location of the new joist in the Dist edit box. Note that a value of 0.00 for the distance is permissible.
3. Click Add. The dialog box will disappear and the RAM Modeler will enter the Add Joist Off-Grid Layout Mode.
4. Click the reference beam.
5. Select the end of the reference beam from which Dist is to be measured.
6. Click the reference column. The new joist will be added.
