Where required the web plate is sized to be equal to the column web thickness, but is rounded up to the closest web plate increment (as entered by the user in the criteria-joints dialog). For design purposes only the thickness of the plate equal to the thickness of the web of the column is considered. In some rare circumstances the program may indicate that an adequate web plate cannot be designed, but the report will show that the provided web thickness exceeds that required. Refer to the technical section for a detailed explanation of why this might occur.
