RAM Structural System Help

Options - Set Show Options

Selecting the Options - Set Show Options command will cause the Set Show Options dialog box to appear.

Many attributes of the structural model are not depicted by its normal graphical representation. For instance, graphically there is no difference between a beam assigned the default steel table and one that is assigned the alternate steel table.

To show these types of attributes, select the desired options and click the OK button.

Selecting any options from the Beam tab or Column tab will cause the appropriate beams or columns to be highlighted.

Decks, loads, snow loads, and foundations can be shown by selecting the Miscellaneous tab and then the appropriate option. Selecting the Decks, Loads, Snow Loads, or Foundations option will cause the decks, loads, snow loads, or foundations to remain shown until the options are turned off. If Decks, Loads, or Snow Loads is selected, a corresponding check box will be enabled to allow you to decide whether or not to clip the corresponding polygons to the slab edges. These checks are all enabled by default, and make it so that you only see the portions of these polygons that are inside slab edges, since those are the only portions that are pertinent to the design. If you uncheck any of these options, the corresponding polygons will be drawn in their entirety, which helps, for instance, when you need to delete one that is no longer inside the boundaries of a slab.
