Issuing a Command in Fence Mode

The purpose of issuing a command in fence mode is to apply the command to every member in a specified area rather than issuing the command multiple times to individual members.

The command will affect only members of the type chosen from the menu and only those enclosed entirely by the fence. For instance, if you issue Layout - Beam - Delete in fence mode, the columns or walls in the fenced area will not be deleted.

To Fence an Area:
  1. Position the rectangle cursor at the corner of the area for which you wish to issue the command.
  2. Holding down the Left Mouse button, drag the mouse so that the rectangle enlarges to envelop the area you wish to affect.
  3. Once you have enclosed your area in the fence, release the Left Mouse button. The command will be executed at this time.
