For composite beams the minimum degree of shear connection is given in BS 5950:Part 3:Section 3.1:1990 and enforced by the program, except to be consistent with the Westok procedures for nonsymetric shapes the minimum degree of shear connection is (0.4 + 0.03span) for spans up to 20m.
